GREENPEACE SUPPORTERS HIJACK BUS SHELTER ADS BEFORE FARAGE RALLY
Share on FacebookShare on X

Greenpeace activists have vandalised bus shelters across the Isle of Wight overnight in protest of Nigel Farage’s visit later today (Monday).

Bus shelter advertising panels have been opened, without permission, to enable the local activists to place their own posters inside.

A small group of individuals set out overnight, under the cover of darkness and fog, to roll out their anti-Reform campaign.

Each poster features a negative view of Reform UK as a party, including ‘Vote Reform, Get Trump’ and ‘Out with the old, in with the old’ – in relation to the number of Conservative defections.

Some of the genuine, local advertising is visbile underneath – but there is no suggestion the local firms support the action of Greenpeace Isle of Wight.

Earlier today Island Echo ran an opinion piece from Nigel Farage on the state of the Isle of Wight Council, which comes just hours before a major political rally in Newport as part of the party’s local election campaign.

Your not well educated. These posters are being placed across the UK. Also it’s not just Greenpeace et al. It’s well paid hard working people that design and print these posters and pay for them.

Why? to annoy Gammons like you.

no, if these imbeciles respected free speech, then they would not be bothered by others advertising parties that they do not agree with.

those that have opened up these poster boards and done this, are anti free speech, lefty clowns, who seem to think that their narrative is the only permitted choice

supporting a view you do not agree with, is support for free speech

low lives are the only name for any one that tramples on free speech

‘You’re not well educated’? Now where have we heard that phrasing before? Chilling.

“Your not well educated.”
Does that make sense to you?
If you insinuate that Ohlins is “Not well educated”, then you should have written “YOU ARE” as “your” is a possessive adjective used as a modifier before a noun.
As in “Your books, your pen, your car” etc. etc.
As a general rule, it is always best not to try and insult someone. by belittling their education whilst simultaneously demonstrating the lack of your own.

I expect these activists have been imported. Whatever your political leaning, in this country we have always respected free speech. Until now it seems. Greenpeace used to be respected for their principles, but no more. If this is meant to intimidate law abiding people, they are no longer peaceful.

“Whatever your political leaning, in this country we have always respected free speech”
but surely, alerting people to the pit-falls of voting Reform, is FREE Speach ??
Just how is a poster, (explaining that with Farage’s worshipping of Trump,.. if you vote for one, you’ll effectivly get the other.. or pointing out that the majority of Reform MPs are ex [failed] Conservaties) supposed to be intimidating ???

Breaking into the signage panel is vandalism, and replacing a free speech poster with your own is intimidating to people who may want to read and form their own opinions

“Breaking into the signage panel is vandalism”.. possibly,.. depending on whether any physical damage was caused.

“replacing a free speech poster with your own is intimidating” Ha Ha Ha,… ‘Free Spech Poster ??? …the poster replace was clearly an advertisment for an estate agents….!!!

people who may want to read and form their own opinions
The poster it was replaced with, merely pointed out that there is an alternative (a lot would say true) interpretation of Farage & Reform… and that would only asist to give a balanced view which would help people to “form their own opinions”.

after all you can’t form an opinion of something if you only have one side of the argument..

If I see an advertisement, claiming that Android phones are better than Apple.. should I be intimidated by that ??

it seems that you are already blinkered (brains washed ?), not in the slightest bit interested in a balanced view of the benefits / disadvantages of the Farage / Reform brand of politics..

I hope Reform rewards you with all that you think you’re going to get from them….

It’s vandalism if it has been put there without permission. Very simple Wightlink. You self righteous prat.

I very much doubt that these terrorists (for that is what they are) who are trying desperately to impose their views on the majority, are not island residents.
If you trawl through Echo stories where these people are photographed, you will see that a) there are very few of them <20 in most cases and b) consist of the same faces.
Nutty Nellie (as she is known in Ventnor) who actively supports a proscribed organisation and her chums represent the equivalent of 50 fleas on the back of a hippopotamus in terms of nuisance value.
And “Greens” now represent themselves as supporters of legalising Heroin, Crack Cocaine and other mind bending drugs.
Unsurprising really, given their “Leader” believes he can enlarge women’s breasts just by looking at them.
Caroline Lucas had plenty of charm and was fairly civil. The new Green boss has and is neither!

and another one…
who seems to think that anyone who chooses to speak out against Farage / Reform are in the wrong.. (terrorists ?? Ha Ha).
as the previous poster stated “in this country we have always respected free speech”..
but it seems that in the view of Farage / Reform supporters,. that is only true, as long as the views expressed are in favour of Farage.

“desperately to impose their views on the majority”… is that not exactly what Farage is doing here tonight ?? following their by-election humiliation in Gorton and Denton…. Picking on somewhere where the average level of intellect suits Reform’s policies, & gives them a chance of swaying opinion in their favour.

I’m sure you’ll be along to worship him later, with the rest of the deluded sheep.. don’t forget your offerings of gold & frankincense…. (but then again, that was supposed to be Wise Men who brought that, so not really appropriate)

“Picking on somewhere where the average level of intellect” – if yours is anything to go by, it will be fertile ground!
It has taken you an hour to pluck up the “courage” to post – muppet.

That would imply (from your own reasoning) that I should be an avid Reform supporter… but I am anything but… I think that just proves that your login is rather flawed. (or you don’t understand it)

“It has taken you an hour”…
duh,.. not all of us are on-line 24/7 waiting to read and reply to your predictable drivel…

Palestine Action is a proscribed group and “Nutty Nellie” is a well known fruitcake who supports them and other similar organisations.
Terror is not what I am filled with when reading the puerile insults posted on here by like minded Nutty Nellie fans.

On February 13, 2026, the UK High Court ruled that the Home Secretary’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organization was unlawful

In her ruling, Judge Dame Victoria Sharp agreed with the government’s assessment that Palestine Action “promotes its political cause through criminality”.
A bit like you.
Met Police said the group remains banned, “which means expressing support is still a criminal offence”.
So you had better be careful!

Imported from where?

And those law-abiding people, I take it you’re NOT then referring to the many Reform candidates who have been outed as law-breakers (bribery, assault, criminal damage, voter fraud, anonymous donations)? For such a small party it’s a disproportionate percentage.

If you want peaceful and law-abiding, look elsewhere.

I’m not sure it is such a small party Sunshine. At the last count it had more members than Labour and about twice as many as the Conservatives.

5 elected MPs…. vs. 411 Labour, 171 Lib-Dems & 121 Cons
So, yeah, ‘such a small party’

Article 5 is underpins the Nato Alliance which requires all members to protect one another. An attack on one is an attack on all. We are already in Nato. Ukraine is not in Nato. Do keep up dear.

I dont understand why the word Vandalised (def: action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property) was used where the original advertisments are clearly visable below, all that needs to be done is to clip out the sides of the frame and take it out leaving no damage. I am on neither side however I dont agree with Darren Toogoods lack of political neutrality as Island Echo is one of the islands biggest sources of news especially ahead of the election. It seems very unprofessional

I think we can safely assume that the Echo leans to the far right politically. Is it really accurate to describe opening an advertising cabinet without permission “vandalism”? Let us please retain some degree of perspective even if you can’t manage political neutrality.

It is vandalism. If you damage someone else’s property and or enter it without permission, that is ILLEGAL. Typical lefty – let everyone do what they like – attitude. Can I come round yours and pop up a couple of Reform UK posters, then?

Rather sums up Greenpeace. They were once a group who championed the cause of the environment. Now they just seem to be a bunch of ultra left wing vandals.
Shame really as the environment is important, but the green party has plummeted to an all time low!

Isn’t this vandalism, if that poster said that “Death to the IOW Council”, would the council have prosecuted? We need equality before the law.
