Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club’s Ladies raised nearly £1,300 for Mountbatten Hospice during their annual Hospice Day event, held on Tuesday 10th June.
The popular charity event featured a 13-hole Texas Scramble, with each team including one male player. The competition was closely contested.
The winning team, taking the top prize on countback, comprised Penny Last, Bev Lowrie, Geraldine Parmenter and David Popple. They narrowly edged out Lorraine Harley, Christine O’Brien, Peter Parmenter and Jane Wilson. Third place went to Ruth Graves, Sarah Nye, Carl Smith and Bev Whorwood.
Anna Garriock won nearest the pin on the 9th for the ladies, while Bob Wilson claimed the men’s prize.
In addition to the golf, the Ladies organised a bring-and-buy sale, tombola and raffle, all contributing to the day’s fundraising total of approximately £1,300 for the Hospice.
