A mix of land and property on the Isle of Wight went under the auctioneer’s hammer in Portsmouth on Friday.

They were among 135 lots being sold by regional auctioneers Clive Emson.

Nearly an acre of freehold land at Chillerton Farm Barns, Chillerton went for £21,000, which was double the freehold guide price. It includes the estate access road and a parcel of open land to the north of a development of 5 houses.

48 High Street, Newport, complete with planning permission for the conversion of the leasehold upper parts of the property into 2 flats, went for £65,000. Meanwhile in Cowes, 3 Northwood Place at Terminus Road went for £92,000, which was £17,000 above the guide price. The second floor leasehold property boasts 2 bedrooms.

A building plot at Fishbourne Lane, Fishbourne which has planning permission in perpetuity and was guided freehold at £130-150,000, sold prior to auction.

The former NatWest business centre on Riverway, Newport, which had a guide price of £600,000-650,000, is now being auctioned in July.

Clive Emson’s regional auction takes place at 11:00 on Friday 26th July at the Solent Hotel & Spa, Rookery Avenue, Whiteley, near Portsmouth.

In a separate development, Clive Emson, who founded Clive Emson Auctioneers in 1989, has been awarded an MBE for services to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. He is President of The Young Lives Foundation, an independent children’s charity which helps thousands of youngsters every year.
