Red Funnel has had to cancel at least 2 of its Thursday vehicle ferry sailings due to yet another technical issue.
The 07:00 sailing from Southampton and the 08:30 from East Cowes have both been cancelled this morning.
The cross-Solent operator says that a problem with a generator on board Red Falcon is the reason behind this latest disruption.
It’s unclear if there will be any further cancellations throughout the day.
Red Funnel apologises for the inconvenience caused.
Meanwhile, competitor Wightlink is advising of delays of 40 minutes on its Fishbourne-Portsmouth route due to lower than predicted tides.
UPDATE @ 09:17 – Red Funnel has now cancelled the 10:00 from Southampton and the 11:30 from East Cowes, as the generator fault continues.

On Tuesday they cancelled the 18:00 for ‘staffing issues’
The 19:00 was only half full. the truth is they cancel any ferry that isn’t full.
It is all about money and to hell with the customers.
The failure to deliver an advertised sailing should have a penalty for Red Funnel. I suggest a return of the full fare paid plus free travel on the same, or another day of the customer’s choosing.
This is why regulation is essential. These cowboys are a law unto themselves.
It’s like Bulls&!t bingo
Everyone knows that Red Funnel combine sailings to save running costs so who do they think they are kidding with their spurious excuses about technical issues.
