The Prime Minister has laid out plans to ease the lockdown from 4th July – here is a full list of which businesses can and cannot open at the beginning of July.
Today’s news is good news for many businesses across the Isle of Wight and the rest of the country, but for others it means the doors must remain shut for even longer.
In line with the latest Government announcement, the following businesses must remain CLOSED from 4th July:
- Nail bars, spas and beauty salons
- Tattoo, piercing and massages parlours
- Bowling alleys, skating rinks and indoor play areas (including soft play)
- Indoor gyms, fitness and dance studios
- Indoor sports venues/facilities including swimming pools
- Water parks
- Nightclubs
- Casinos
- Exhibition or Conference Centres
The Isle of Wight’s tourism season looks set to be saved as it is confirmed the following businesses CAN re-open from 4th July ahead of the summer holidays:
- Hotels, B&Bs, holiday apartments or homes, cottages or bungalows, campsites, caravan parks or hostels/boarding houses
- Restaurants, cafes and workplace canteens
- Bars
- Pubs
- Hair salons and barbers
- Cinemas
- Bingo Halls
- Places of Worship
- Libraries
- Community Centres
- Theatres and concert halls (no live gigs)
- Museums and galleries
- Outdoor playgrounds
- Outdoor gyms
- Model villages
- Funfairs, theme parks and adventure parks and activities
- Indoor attractions at aquariums, zoos, safari parks, farms, wildlife centres and any place where animals are exhibited to the public as an attraction
- Amusement arcades
- Outdoor skating rinks
- Other indoor leisure centres or facilities, including indoor games, recreation and entertainment venues
- Social clubs

Some of us are actually at work all day and can’t spend the day in the sun unfortunately…
Find a better job, or better still set up a business and make a success of yourself. It’s easy to moan anyone can do that

I suppose it means that indoor exercises are not allowed because of heavy breathing and more aerosols being spread.(?)
Still no mention or clarity about mobile hairdressers going in to homes?
What about practical driving tests with masks and gloves

So if nail bars are not allowed to open, how come one in Ryde has been open since at least last friday and had a que of customers?!!
