A Freshwater man who sent an explicit video to the new partner of an ex-girlfriend has been warned he could be heading to prison.
Andrew Blair, 43, of Sunset Close in Freshwater, pleaded guilty to sending a letter/communication/article conveying a threatening message when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday (29th August).
Prosecuting, Liz Miller told the court that on 5th December 2022, Blair video called the partner of an ex-girlfriend posing to be someone he wasn’t.
The day after, during an exchange of messages between Blair and the male, an intimate video of the woman in question was sent to her new partner by Blair.
Blair was arrested and made admissions in Police interview.
Defending, Barry Arnett told the court that the situation was ‘complicated’ and that various messages had been exchanged between the pair of men for a period of time. He also added that Blair has had troubles with alcohol since he was 19-years-old and that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the offence.
Blair has recently completed a community order with the probation service. According to Probation, Blair had engaged well in all aspects of his order including attending office appointments and alcoholics anonymous, but the 43-year-old was still struggling with drink.
The case has been adjourned to allow an all-options pre-sentence report to be compiled.
Blair will next appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Friday 29th September.

So it wouldn’t bother you that an alcoholic man has naked videos of your partner, which may soon be your wife, and due to his drunken drugged up mental state is sending them to people he does not know, probably showing his friends and posting them on revenge porn websites too. You find that amusing.?

He is an absolute scumball. If you look at previous stories he has breached restraining orders and harassing women. He fully deserves to rot in gaol.
Another waste of space piss head spoiling the quality of life of others being given free hand outs to buy it with while working families struggle to afford the basics.
I am amazed and disgusted that people actually allow others to take videos or pictures of them in the act of lovemaking. They are nothing more than animals and belong in the gutter.
