Past captains narrowly defeated the current captain’s side in Freshwater Bay Golf Club’s traditional annual Captains v Past Captains match fixture on Saturday 9th May.
14 former captains from the club took on a side selected by current club captain, David Harding.
The Past Captains team was led by last year’s captain Bill Evitts in one of the club’s longstanding fixtures, which remains a popular date in the golfing calendar.
Played in good spirits, the contest proved closely fought throughout before the Past Captains eventually secured victory by a narrow margin.
Following the match, players and guests gathered at the clubhouse to enjoy a 4-course meal together, rounding off another successful social and sporting occasion at the West Wight club.
