BRENDAN Rodgers, who once played football for the Isle of Wight, has stepped up his game after becoming Liverpool Football Club’s new manager.

Rodgers, 39, who recently managed welsh-team Swansea before being head-hunted, played for the Island team at St Georges Park at the start of his career before moving on to coach the local division team, that still exists today.

After successfully being selected for the position, Brendan will now manage and push forward Liverpool’s international-class team with players such as Gerrard, Suarez and Carroll.
