The Met Office says that fog is expected to develop over parts of Southern England throughout this evening and overnight into Friday morning.
Although the Isle of Wight hasn’t been included in the yellow weather warning, it is anticipated that the Island will be affected. Visibility may drop below 100m in places.
A weather warning issued yesterday missed the Island out completely, but tricky driving conditions and cross-Solent disruption hit earlier today.
Following this morning’s delays caused by the dense fog, Red Funnel has cancelled its 19:30 sailing from Southampton to East Cowes and the 19:30 sailing from East Cowes to Southampton this evening in order to restore the published timetable from 21:00.
Hazardous driving conditions and slower journey times can be expected tomorrow.
The weather warning is in force from 19:00 this evening (Thursday) until 11:00 tomorrow.
