The troubled Cowes Floating Bridge has been pulled from service once again this morning (Thursday) due to yet another issue with the vessel. Floating Bridge No.6 is currently moored up on the East Cowes side of the River Medina with the service suspended until further notice. No reason for the suspension of service has been given as of yet, but it is known that the floating bridge is unsuitable for the East Cowes-Cowes route and is due to be replaced. Today’s disruption comes only weeks after an annual refit was conducted on the vessel. A foot passenger launch service is now in operation. Motorists are having to divert via Newport.
