A flatbed van has collided with a wall in Apse Heath tonight (Friday), resulting in a Police response.
Emergency services were alerted to reports that a vehicle – described by Island Echo readers as a Transit tipper – had left the road and collided with a wall shortly before 22:00.
Island Echo understands that a number of other vehicles have also sustained damage caused by the van.
The crash has occurred on the A3056 Newport Road between Apse Heath mini-roundabout and Sandown Airport.
The road remains open in both directions.
Police officers are awaiting recovery agents to take away the damaged vehicle(s).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been contacted for a statement.
