A much-loved Isle of Wight theatre company for adults with additional and complex needs is inviting new members to join their ranks ahead of their next big performance.
First Act, which has been running for an incredible 30 years, provides a safe, creative and inspiring environment where members can explore the theatrical arts, develop their talents and shine on stage.
Operating 4 days a week across 2 Island venues, the charity stages biannual productions at Shanklin Theatre – with their next show, Wonderland, set to hit the stage at the end of November. Rehearsals will begin in early September, making now the perfect time to get involved.
Audiences have come to love the unique magic of a First Act show – from touching moments and uplifting musical numbers to the unscripted gems when performers seize their moment in the spotlight. One member is known for regularly declaring “I love you mum!” mid-performance.
A spokesperson for First Act said:
“Our productions are a celebration of creativity, community and individuality. We are lucky to have such supportive audiences, and we’d love to welcome more members to share in the joy of performing.”
