2 Isle of Wight firefighters are preparing to undertake a 400-mile cycling challenge through Wales, in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.
Josh Hunter and Ross Smallcombe will start their fundraiser on Monday (7th September), slogging their way along the Pan Celtic Race course through Wales towards Snowdonia and onwards to the North Welsh coast.
The duo, who are cycling self-supported, will be sure to eat some chips and ice cream before turning around and heading back through Snowdonia, down through central Wales to finish back in the South – all in just 4 days.
Josh and Ross’ story is born by wanting to do something to help those that help them [firefighters]. They say:
“Lots of colleagues, family and friend have used The Fire Fighters Charity to get their lives back on track, so we wanted to give something back to help others in the future.
“Adventure awaits! It never rains in wales, it’s flat and there’s never any wind – or so our work colleagues tell us! Easy peasy!”
Over £650 has already been raised with a target go £750. You can also donate to the course by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bodgerbadger.
