FIREFIGHTERS CALLED TO COW STUCK IN MUD

cowhorseanimalwaterrescueunitcountrylaneUPDATED: Firefighters from Newport, Sandown and Shanklin are this afternoon (Sunday) working to rescue a large cow that is stuck in mud at Alverstone.

Three appliances and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s Animal Rescue Unit are currently in attendance near to the cycle path at Alverstone, where it is reported a cow has become stuck fast in muddy conditions.

Emergency crews were called to the incident at 13:10.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and the RSPCA have stood down from the incident.
