A 20-year-old man was arrested after armed police descended on an address in Ryde last night (Sunday).
Police were called just before 18:00 to reports of a man sharing social media content of himself with a suspected firearm in a public place.
Officers, including a duo of Armed Response Vehicle’s (ARV), descended upon an address on Ashey Road where riot-clad officers surrounded the property.
Once inside the suspects address, bladed articles were seized.
A 20-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a licence.
