Ryde Fire Station have once again erected a Christmas tree high upon their drill tower, in what has become an annual tradition.
The holidays are well and truly coming now that the tree can be seen shining brightly from across the town.
Firefighters this week used an Aerial Ladder Platform to lift the massive tree into place and decorate it with multicoloured lights – an ideal training scenario. The tree is donated by Ryde Town Council each year.
A formal switch-on would normally take place during the Wight Brainy Bunch’s Christmas Fair, but with COVID putting a stop to such festivities this year there will be no lighting up ceremony.
