Firefighters from Cowes and Newport have contained and extinguished a fire at an industrial unit in Somerton, Cowes tonight (Tuesday).
One appliance from Cowes was mobilised to a fire alarm activation at Blade Dynamics on Saunders Drive at around 20:35, where it was a discovered a fire had broken out in the unit.
A second appliance from Newport was requested to attend, as well as an officer from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews worked together to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading. In the process, a resin cylinder was removed from the building.
No one has been injured in the incident and no substantial damage has been sustained to the building.
Both crews have now left the scene having ventilated the premises.
