Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a file is being prepared for the coroner following the sudden death of a man in Sandown today (Sunday). Officers were called to Albert Road in the town centre at around 09:00 following the sudden death of man in his 40s. Resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were already on scene having been alerted to the incident earlier in the morning. It is thought that the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was also scrambled from its Thruxton base but was stood down en-route in the skies above the seaside town at around 08:45. Police have confirmed that the mans next of kin have been informed. A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
“The death is being treated as unexpected and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
