Isle of Wight Scouts are searching for new adult volunteers to help enable more young people to gain skills for life across the Island.
Youth work is considered similar to the education sector, where current Government rules for the public don’t apply. So don’t be confused if you see groups of 15 young people with adult volunteers out in the community having a great time, working together and supporting each other.
All genders, races and backgrounds are welcome at Scouts. Every week, it gives almost half a million people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
Scouts helps members gain these skills by encouraging them to ask the big questions and listen with wide open minds. It helps them to take a deep breath and speak up, think on their feet, ignore the butterflies and go for it.
Volunteering is easier than you may think, you will gain full support and training and you can volunteer on a flexible basis.
