Wightlink has brought its St Clare car ferry back into service following yesterday’s double engine failure.
Engineers have worked around the clock to carry out repairs, which has proven successful. As a result of the hard work, St Clare will sail the 17:00 from Fishbourne.
It means that the Fishbourne-Portsmouth route is now operating with 2 ferries once again, with Victoria of Wight still out for annual maintainance.
Wightlink sincerely apologises for the disruption caused, with delays of 6 hours experienced overnight and throughout today (Friday).
Original bookings on St Clare (from 17:00) which had been cancelled, will be restored in the reservations system. Customers may choose to travel on these bookings or go online to amend or cancel them free of charge.
It has been confirmed that 5 extra round-trip sailings scheduled overnight between Lymington and Yarmouth will operate. From Lymington, they will be 22:00/23:00/23:59/02:00/04:00 and from Yarmouth they will be 23:05/00:05/01:05/03:05/05:05.
Wightlink’s timetables will return to normal tomorrow.
‘Engineers fix St Clare.’ You really are going to have to ‘fix your phraseology.’
You’re right – I doubt they were “engineers”, probably “technicians”.
Why did they schedule Victoria of Wight for a routine annual maintenance during half term
The Numpty’s probably wasn’t aware it was half term
Lol
What people seem to forget, there are 2 half terms,
different parts of the country have the following week.
