The elderly occupants of a car involved in a minor collision at Wootton this lunchtime (Wednesday) have been checked over by paramedics.
Emergency services were called to High Street, at the junction for Lakeside Park Hotel, at just before 13:30.
A VW Polo and a Pegueot 208 collided, resulting in damage to both vehicles.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service deployed 2 ambulances, a rapid response paramedic and an operational commander to the scene.
Police swiftly moved both vehicles off the main Newport to Ryde road, enabling traffic to flow.
Hope they are all ok? But how did it happen? Too many elderly drivers should NOT be driving as they are not safe? But they won’t give up their licenses and it could be a very serious accident before they are made to give up their licence. Hopefully the police take notes when elderly people are involved in an accident requiring police?? ’m glad it wasn’t my car or all hell would break loose?
From what I see on the island it is the young
speeding Numpty’s who are a danger to other
motorists.
Made me laugh when you said you were glad it
wasn’t your car or all hell will break loose
Lol, either you eat 3 shredded wheat or you think you
are Donald Trump
Lol
Take some chill pills and leave the elderly alone,
you may get old yourself one day, or maybe not!
Grow up
Are you old too? You need to read what you wrote? it’s the elderly that are causing the accidents, the youngsters go out at night when you lot are all tucked up in bed!
You are deluded, maybe a trip to the Doctors
is what you need, chill pills should do the
trick + further education wouldn’t go a miss
Bless you
Lol
Have you never heard of younger drivers having accidents? Idiot.
Well he/she/it is never wong.
Are you old then?? It’s more elderly drivers that cause the accidents! IDIOT
Well said, she is obviously a Numpty with
Blinkers on.
News must be really slow now, but I suppose a minor bump is better than catastrophe
The older driver is usually, slower, stick to speed limits, drive in the daytime, have legal cars, all taxed and insured, less likely to be drug addicts, well expect for the mountains of prescription drugs, unlike their younger counterparts of which the opposite is true and who have more serious “accidents”!
Also the older drivers don’t take the P*ss by
Parking on Pavements or Double Yellow Lines
that is the uneducated young inconsiderate
Numpty’s who don’t want to walk anywhere.
They think they have additional rights
IDIOTS!, they need to grow up.
I blame the uneducated parents.
Wrong again Susie. The latest crop of drink or drug driving cases show that all eleven offenders were under fifty, with an average age of under thirty. And you are concerned about elderly drivers posing a risk when they get behind the wheel?
The youngsters are too busy texting whilst
driving, not to mention speeding.
More shit driving on the island..roll on the next goons..
There are too many vehicles on the island
introduce a ULEZ System and get the
Sh i tters off the road.
