An elderly male missing from his home in Nettlestone has been found safe and well after a Police response to the East Wight village.
It was at around 19:20 this evening (Friday) that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted to the situation, which led to WightSAR – the Island’s voluntary search and rescue service – being put on standby.
Officers responded to the Caws Avenue area and launched a local area search before then calling in WightSAR at 19:43.
However, prior to the arrival of volunteers, Police patrolling the area successfully located the elderly male and were able to return him to his home address by 20:10.
The search has been stood down.
