More than 800 homes and businesses in Newport are without power this morning (Wednesday) due to an underground cable fault. The outage has hit the Parkhurst and St Mary’s areas of the county town across 67 different postcodes. In total, some 815 homes and businesses are without electricity as a result of the fault which was recorded at 03:30. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are aware of the issue and engineers are en-route to restore power to those affected. It is currently estimated that supply will be restored by 07:30.
