A drug driver who collided with a pedestrian on the main road through Wootton has been banned from the roads for 14 months.
Donna-Marie Fay, 37, of Thornton Manor Drive in Ryde, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 8th August where she admitted a single charge of drug driving (THC).
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were deployed to High Street in Wootton on the evening of 3rd March this year after receiving reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a Renault Scenic.
The pedestrian suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
High Street was cordoned off and closed for several hours whilst investigations into the incident took place.
Having heard all the facts of the case, Magistrates handed the 37-year-old a 14-month driving ban. She was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 in court costs and a £48 surcharge fee.
She’ll pay the total amount at a rate of £20 a month starting September 2025.
Such weak punishment, let’s hope banned
means banned.
Personally I believe all drink and drug drivers should be

So the stupid woman gets off with hitting a pedestrian with her car! WTF is going on she should never be allowed behind the wheel of a car again. Where is the punishment? Oh no punishment!
Maybe the injured person will sue the driver of the
vehicle.
She has been banned and got a fine. What your are not told is the whole story.
It was an accident and if you knew the facts he deserved it. It was her husband. He is going back to prison soon after what he has done.
