A drink driver from Ryde, who was also found to be in possession of cocaine, has been banned from the roads for 18 months.
Dayle Campbell, 34, of Great Preston Road, appeared before Magistrates on Tuesday charged with drink driving and possession of a Class A drug. He pleaded guilty to both charges.
The court heard from the prosecution that on 4th September, Campbell was witnessed to be driving erratically on Ashey Road and then Mersley Lane near Newchurch.
Police stopped the vehicle and requested a roadside breath test, which he failed. Campbell was then arrested and it was during a search that officers found a small amount of cocaine.
34-year-old Dayle later went on to provide an evidential reading of 69 at Newport Police Station.
Magistrates banned Campbell from driving for a period of 18 months and fined him £200 for possession of the cocaine, as well as ordering him to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.
