34-year-old William Thomas Bushnell has been banned from driving after crashing his car whilst almost 2-and-a-half times the drink drive limit.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called to the junction of Carpenters Road and Beaper Shute on 12th January when a Vauxhall Astra left the road and crashed into a fence.
Bushnell, previously of Preston Close in Ryde and now of Downsview Road in St Helens, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
He has now been disqualified from driving for 22 months after pleading guilty to drink driving. He blew 84 – the legal limit being 35.
Magistrates fined him £120 and ordered him to pay costs of £85 with a £34 surcharge.
