DOG WALKER LOCATES SUSPECTED ‘HUMAN REMAINS’ ON BEACH IN BEMBRIDGE

The gruesome discovery of suspected human remains on a beach in Bembridge led to Police sealing off the area last night (Saturday). Officers rushed to Forelands Beach, close to Bembridge Coast Hotel, at around 20:00 amid fears human remains had been located. A member of the public made the shocking find earlier in the evening and took to social media to warn others, initially believing that her dog had rolled in a ‘enormous meat joint’. But it soon became clear that the photographed object could, in fact, be a human leg. A cordon was erected on the beach with a search of the immediate area undertaken. The Island’s Police Search Advisor was called in to assist. Police said last night that the possible remains have been recovered for analysis but, at this stage, they are unable to confirm if the discovery is human remains. However, in a development overnight, it’s said that the object recovered is unlikely to be human. Enquiries remain ongoing.
