Two baby T-Rex dinosaurs were revealed to the public today (Thursday) as the UK’s oldest theme park, Blackgang Chine, celebrates 170 years in business.
Following in the footsteps of the Isle of Wight’s Dinosaur Island theme for 2013, the historic park entertained the crowds when two realistic animated Dinosaurs, operated from within by the Park’s staff, were unleashed from a wooden crate that arrived at the Chine a few weeks ago.
The area is well known for fossil discovery and in a continuation of this, Blackgang Chine are holding Dinosaur Discovery Days every Thursday throughout August, the first being launched this morning.
Resident Dinosaur experts, the Dinosaur Expeditions CIC, will be on hand to show you why the Island is becoming famous for its Jurassic history.
There’s a whole range of entertainment, from sieving for shark teeth to making your own dinosaur footprint to take home! You’ll also be able to find out your dinosaur name, and compare your footprints and weight to see what kind of dinosaur you’d be. The experts will be around all day to answer your questions, and there are lots of chances to win some keepsakes of the day.
