A woman from Kent who lost her wedding ring whilst on a trip to the Isle of Wight has been reunited with the piece of jewellery thanks to members of a local lost and found group.
Nishu Dhakal, from Dartford, turned to the Lost and Found IOW Facebook group after discovering that she had lost her wedding ring somewhere on Ryde beach whilst on holiday at the end of June.
taking a break on her first trip to the Isle of Wight on the 26th June, Mrs Nishu Dhakal (from Dartford). turned to a local Facebook group called Lost and Found, IOW for help.
Kevin Stafford, also a member of The Isle of Wight Metal detecting club and a keen detectorist, established approximately where the ring was lost and proceeded to scan the area. Incredibly, after a week, the ring was found on 2nd July.
Mrs Dhakal has since been reunited with her ring after making a return trip to the Island with husband Ameya Nadkarni. They gathered to have a photograph at the point where the ring was found with those responsible for finding it.

The local Facebook group, which was set up by IOW resident, Kevin Chance, boasts many success stories thanks to its dedicated, supportive members.
Kevin said of the group:
“The majority of things that are ‘lost and found’ are mobile phones, bank cards, keys and clothing, but pretty much anything goes. We are a fantastic group offering true community support, but new members are always needed as you never know when you’ll need help, or can offer help”.

Should they have been on holiday at that time?
I was thinking exactly the same thing….
Happy news, love it!
Well done Kevin
Good news but was a holiday legal on June 26./
