Last Thursday (3rd May) the Senior’s section of Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club headed for the 1st tee to do battle in their 2018 Championship which, as usual, proved a tightly fought competition.
Winner of the Gross Competition, and Senior’s Champion, was Derek Brown carding 79, which also included him making a hole in one on the 5th. Derek was presented with the Doug Sutton Salver by Senior’s Captain Peter Conway, together with 2 bottles of wine and a box of 15 golf balls, generously donated by Sonya Sutton.
Winner of the Net Competition was the Senior’s Captain himself, Peter Conway, with a net 65. Peter received the David Stevens’ Salver from his Vice Captain John Rich.
