There are delays on the main road through East Cowes this morning (Wednesday) following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
Police and paramedics are on scene at the junction with Kent Avenue and York Avenue following a road traffic collision. The first 999 call reporting the incident was made at around 08:45.
At the scene, a motorbike has collided with the side of a Suzuki, though thankfully no serious injuries are thought to have been sustained.
Medical professionals from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, including a Critical Care Paramedic, are tending to the rider in the back of an ambulance. They are expected to be conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
Both of the involved vehicles have been moved to the side of the road.
York Avenue is open under Police direction with the nearby electricity works outside Osborne House adding to the delays.
