A potentially life-saving defibrillator is now available to those living in and visiting Newchurch, thanks to a donation by the Wayfarers Cycle Touring Club.
The defib has been purchased in memory of one of the club’s members, Alan Paul, who sadly died last year. The funds have been raised from this year’s annual Isle of Wight Randonnee, alongside donations from the Paul family.
Vic Mann and Hilary Searle from the Isle of Wight-based club recently handed over the defib to David and Emma Hughes, owners of Pedallers Café.
The defibrillator is to be installed outside the café on the popular Sandown-Newport cycle track.
