UPDATED: Paramedics are attending to a cyclist who has been injured following a collision with a car on Beaper Shute in Ryde this morning (Friday).
A red Nissan Micra has sustained heavy impact damage to the windscreen as a result of the incident in which a secondary vehicle clipped a cyclist, forcing them to collide with the stationary car. No body was in the Micra at the time.
Emergency services were called to the scene near to the Tesco roundabout at around 07:45.
The road remains open with Police directing traffic.
UPDATE @ 08:33 – The cyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Island Echo understands that the vehicle that slipped the cyclist failed to stop at the scene.
