UPDATED: CROSS-SOLENT TRAVEL HIT BY DISRUPTION DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

The new working week has got off to a bad start for commuters as Hovertravel has already cancelled its cross-Solent services this morning (Monday) due to the adverse weather. Services between Ryde and Southsea are cancelled until further notice, with an update due at 07:45. Hovertravel tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service. Further disruption is expected throughout today as a yellow weather warning for strong gusts is in force from 09:00 until midday, with a wider advisory in place between now and 18:00 this evening. Red Funnel has already warned of likely delays and cancellations to its hi-speed Red Jet service. As it stands, all Red Funnel and Wightlink routes are running to timetable. UPDATE @ 15:30 – Red Jet 16:45 & 17:55 from Southampton & 16:10, 17:20 & 18:30 from Cowes cancelled due to the deteriorating weather conditions.
