The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has touched down in Binstead this evening (Friday) on its latest local mission, responding to an emergency at a nearby residential address.
It was at just before 16:45 that the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service deployed an ambulance, critical care paramedic and an operational commander to a property on Pitts Lane, amid reports of a serious and potentially life-threatening emergency.
Now, an hour later, a flying doctor and enhanced paramedic have arrived on scene, having landed at Binstead Main Road Recreation Ground at just gone 17:30.
The critical care team are working alongside local paramedics in dealing with the medical emergency.
UPDATE @ 19:21 – The patient has been flown directly to Southampton General Hospital for specialist treatment.
