UPDATED: Police and paramedics are attending a collision involving up to 3 vehicles on Parkhurst Road in Newport this afternoon (Saturday).
2 ambulances and a rapid response paramedic are on scene outside HMP Isle of Wight and are assessing those involved in the incident, which occurred at just before 15:10.
Traffic is reported to be heavy in the area, with vehicles being diverted through the prison estate.
Delays are anticipated to Southern Vectis Route 1 buses.
UPDATE – 1 person has been conveyed across the road to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.
The scene has now been cleared.
