A car crash on Ashey Road this evening (Friday) has seen emergency services called to the scene.
The incident has occurred on the Eastbound carriageway towards Ryde between the junction with Brading Down Road and the turn-off for West Ashey Farm.
2 units from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are directing traffic past the affected area. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is also in attendance.
At least 1 car – a red Toyota- has suffered damage and remains on the road. There are also 3 vehicles in the adjacent field although it is not known if they are involved.
The road remains open but motorists are advised to exercise caution, particularly in the current adverse driving conditions

Love this bit of road can normally get a ton plus out of my motor here but I am an experienced driver.Some of you muppets need to slow down before somebody gets seriously injured.

I use the Ashey road every day and I always feel nervous. That road is very narrow in places, however, most drivers are completely mad.
