A 21-year-old sailing fanatic is due to set off from Cowes today (Saturday) in a record-breaking circumnavigation of Britain.

Raising funds for the Ellen MacArthur Trust and Sports Relief, Ludo Bennett-Jones will navigate some 2,500 miles around Britain in a 16ft Wayfarer dinghy.

The young sailor from Oxford is aiming to be the youngest person to sail a dinghy around the UK in the shortest time. He will be following a clockwise route using the prevailing winds the challenge will take in every UK country including Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. There will be a full support team travelling in tandem to ensure Ludo is safe throughout the journey.
