2 fishermen who desperately tied their boat to a buoy after it suffered engine trouble and electricity failure were eventually taken to safety by Cowes RNLI lifeboat last night (Tuesday).
The men had first communicated their predicament to HM Coastguard while tied to West Ryde Middle Buoy in the middle of The Solent.
Having launched at 19:54, the Atlantic 85 class lifeboat subsequently proceeded to tow it to a mooring in the River Hamble.
The mission was brought to a successful close by 22:20.
