As part of British Heart Week, Isle of Wight Oddfellows is inviting the public and its members to a life-saving demonstration on Friday 10th June.
Louise Walker from the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Ambulance Service will demonstrate how to use a defibrillator and perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
Louise explained:
“Cardiac arrest can occur at any time and place. Therefore, it is vital that our community know how to: recognise cardiac arrest, call for an Ambulance, perform CPR, and safely use a defibrillator (if available). With this knowledge and these skills, it greatly increases the casualty’s chance of survival from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.”
The demonstration will take place at the Methodist Church Hall, Quay Street, Newport PO30 5BA from 13:30 to 15:30.
