Armed police have been called to an address in Cowes this morning (Monday). Several units from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary including the Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) were called to Arctic Road in the town at around 09:45. At the scene armed officers have set up post in the middle of the road pointing guns towards the residential address. Arctic Road has been closed at the junction with Bridge Road until further notice. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said the response relates to a domestic incident. Island Echo understands that the male may have been in possession of some offensive weapons, but further information is expected as the week progresses. UPDATE @ 11:30 – A male has voluntarily left the property and has been searched and arrested by Police.
The van transporting him has already left the scene and is on its way to Newport Police Station. Arctic Road is to reopen imminently.

Well I don’t see any photos of the coastguard standing around waiting for everyone else to do the work!
So true, yet you rarely see police patrolling that road… See them on Queens Rd and Baring, tho… funny that
