2022 has arrived and it’s great to welcome you back.
Before Christmas, we turned off the ability to comment on individual articles published on the Island Echo website. This was to enable the team to have some well-deserved time off over the festive period and to ensure a safe and legal environment for all readers over the festive break whilst moderation was unavailable.
We have now re-enabled commenting on the website and you should be able to comment as normal, just like so many of you did in 2021.
To date over 83,000 comments have been made on this website – that means around 31,000 comments were submitted in 2021 alone, or 85 a day.
Please note: commenting is disabled for legal or commercial reasons on some stories

Yes the coments went of and the council did a write up on how they were going to drain us even more. Please re publish this IE So peopycan have a say.

I get about 50% deleted lol… freedom of speech is all we got left…well when its not censored I guess
Frankly it was way better without the commenting, but of course ie have to drive the clicks for their advertisers.
