A collision outside of a corner shop in Ryde caused traffic delays earlier today (Monday).
Police were called to the scene on Upton Road, near St Michaels Avenue, at around 11:45 following reports of a collision between 2 vehicles.
Paramedics and a single fire appliance from Ryde were also called to the scene, in the interest of scene safety.
It is understood that no serious injuries have been sustained, with those involved able to self-extricate themselves from the vehicle.
Upton Road was blocked for a while whilst the incident was dealt with.

Looks like another bit of island pavement parking
THE SOONER IW COUNCIL ROLLS OUT
BAN PAVEMENT PARKING THE BETTER
ISLANDWIDE OF COURSE.
NOT surprised at all, go past here weekly always cars parked outside shop on pavement, it is a narrow road without illegal parking on double yellow lines and pavement!
That is because there is NO LAW AND ORDER ON ISLAND ROADS
Vehicles are allowed to drive with NO MOT
PARK ON PAVEMENTS OR DOUBLE YELLOW LINES
NOT TO MENTION ON ZIG ZAGS OPPOSITE SPOONS in Ryde
IW Council are more concerned booking a paying motorist
who goes a few minutes over their time or someone parking
a few minutes over their time.
WE NEED A MAYOR LIKE KHAN HE WOULD HAVE VEHICLES
TOWED AWAY, FINE MOTORISTS.
THIS LOT COULDN’T OPEN A PACKET OF CRISPS BETWEEN THEM.
ALL A BUNCH OF USLESS ********
WHAT DO WE PAY OUT TAXES FOR.
EVERYDAY IN SHANKLIN ETC NUMPTY TRADESMEN
PARK ALL DAY ON PAVEMENTS OR DOUBLE YELLOW LINES
DROP YOUR SHIT OFF THEN GO AND PARK UP, THAT IS HOW
IT WORKS ON THE MAINLAND, BUT NOT ON THE “UNSAFE”
ISLE OF WIGHT.
PAVEMENTS ARE FOR PEDESTRIANS NOT FOR VEHICLES
THE NUMB NUTS AT THE COUNCIL STILL CANNOT WORK THIS OUT!
IT MAKES ME FCUKING SICK
Those involved able to self-extricate themselves from the vehicle. So why a fire engine?
I can only imagine the snooker table was being re-clothed.
Love this
Shame my earlier comment was removed, so sad people
don’t like to hear the truth, that is why the island is fcuked up!.
Yeah true but making a comment on island echo is pointless, if you really want to see change start doing something about it instead of just complaining in a local news report
