Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team have been in attendance at the cliff tops in Shanklin this afternoon (Sunday) after two Terrier dogs got into trouble along the cliff path.
At around 13:00 HM Coastguard were alerted to the plight of the pair that had gone over the cliff edge near to Howard Road, prompting Ventnor CRT to respond to the dog owner’s call for assistance.
Amazingly – as the Coastguard officers were preparing to lower themselves down the cliff – the dogs were able to get themselves to safety further along.
With the dogs safely reunited with their owner, Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team have now stood down from the incident and have returned to station.
