Paddleboarders and kayakers struggling against the tide were rescued thanks to help of HM Coastguard and Bembridge RNLI earlier today (Sunday).
At just after 13:00, HM Coastguard received reports of 4 casualties on an inflatable paddleboard and kayak struggling against the tide at Whitecliff Bay.
Units from Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were mobilised and Bembridge RNLI tasked to the scene, rendezvousing at Sandhills Holiday Park.
Lifeboat crew aboard Bembridge’s D-Class vessel rescued the casualties and returned them to shore.
The incident was concluded by around 14:30.
