A car has been left abandoned in a stream in a rural West Wight village after it careered off the road last night (Monday).
The Honda Civic estate left the carriageway at Broad Lane – near Waytes Court – at around 19:30, crashing through a railing and into the shallow water.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.
The Honda was travelling north towards Main Road at the time of the crash.
No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
It’s unknown if recovery has been arranged, with time of the essence as the flow of the stream is constantly moving the vehicle.
Police have been unable to provide a statement on the matter.
Ragging it round the bend and off heir head on something = crash.
You can’t park there mate!!
Really ? great driving and will he be made to fix the railings? …no just like the wall down in cowes nearly a year now.
Crush the car and ban the driver.
Surely not more speeding on the
Lawless Island Roads!
Change that, you can’t anchor there mate..
Typical old person driving
Just another Caulkhead breaking the law.
Nope, we need to take these old incapable drives off the road. Forced re-test every 5 years over 50
Age as nothing to do with it.
Drive along Regent Street in Shanklin,
Numpty takeaways park on both sides of the street
a fire engine wouldn’t get past
YET THE LAW DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT!
The problem is that there is NO RULES
on this NUMPTY RUN ISLAND
Sadiq Khan would solve the problem
“The voice of truth”, you must be joking. Older people have had more experience at driving so do not assume it was an elderly person driving. Young people have had very little experience, if any and they think that they can do what they want, when they want. Some youngsters are like a cancer on our roads. So I suggest that you wind your neck in and if you are a driver, lets see in the future at what age YOU give your driving licence up, if you have one??? Happy and safe New Year to one and all.
So true, young drivers are the problem on the island.
