Bus drivers on the Isle of Wight will be getting into the festive spirit – by sporting Christmas jumpers this December in aid of charity.
Southern Vectis workers are raising money for Isle of Wight Search & Rescue – and pulling on the seasonal sweaters is their latest fundraising initiative.
Richard Tyldsley, General Manager at Southern Vectis, says:
“Our drivers are a festive bunch – and every Friday and Saturday during December they’ll be donning colourful Christmas jumpers in aid of this very worthy cause.
“We thought this would be the perfect time to help WightSAR. The charity provides skilled volunteers to assist Hampshire Constabulary and other agencies in searches for vulnerable missing people on the Isle of Wight. It relies on donations from the public and sponsors to fund its team.
“We’d like to raise as much money as possible – and we’re inviting customers to get into the Christmas spirit too.”
