UPDATED: Firefighters are attending a chimney fire in York Avenue, East Cowes this evening (Saturday).
One appliance from Newport Fire Station was mobilised to the scene opposite Glossop Close at around 18:00 before firefighters requested the assistance of an aerial ladder platform (ALP), also from Newport.
Crews are currently working to fully extinguish the fire using a hose reel from the aerial platform.
York Avenue remains open in both directions.
No one has been injured in the incident.
UPDATE @ 20:10 – Firefighters have extinguished the fire and have now left the scene.
