UPDATED: A pedestrian was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance following a collision with a car in Ryde earlier tonight (Tuesday).
The incident, which is said to have involved a child on a scooter, occurred on St John’s Road near the junction with Riboleau Street at just before 20:00.
Island Echo understands the car windscreen was ‘bullseyed’ in the collision but that the pedestrian has not sustained any life-threatening injuries.
The female driver of the car received medical attention from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at the scene but was not conveyed to hospital.
The scene has been cleared.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that a 14-year-old boy was taken to St Mary’s Hospital.
