Emergency services raced to the scene of a road traffic collision near Chessell in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
One person had to be freed from the wreckage of their vehicle by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service after crashing on the B3401 Newport Road, also known as Middle Road.
The incident occurred shortly before 04:00 near to Whitefield Woodyard on a fast stretch of road.
It is understood the vehicle collided with a tree. Only one vehicle was involved.
Island Echo understand the casualty was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.
Yesterday, two vehicles collided near to the junction with Chessell Pottery.
